Who is Kyle Rittenhouse - the suspect in the Wisconsin shooting?

The suspect in the Kenosha murder, Wisconsin, is a former member of the Public Safety Cadet Program. Police in Antioch, Illinois, on Wednesday identified 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse.

Police Chief Philip L. The online program has been described as offering young people the opportunity to start a career in law enforcement.

Police said Kyle Rittenhouse was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder. He remains in judicial custody in Lake County pending his extradition to Wisconsin.

Kinoshi police said he has been charged in connection with the shootout that took place on the night of Tuesday's riots, in which two people were killed and a third seriously injured.

The victims of the shooting were a 26-year-old resident of Silver Lake, Wisconsin, and a 36-year-old resident of Kenosha. The incident took place against the backdrop of protests against the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

A few hours before the incident, the young man appeared in the video tape in which he carried a gun and said, "We have no (weapon) that is non-lethal."

He was one of many heavily armed guards on the streets of Kenosha, where protests erupted after Jacob Blake Jr. was shot. Speaking to the far-right website The Daily Caller on the night of the murders, Rittenhouse said he took to the streets to protect small businesses and provide medical assistance to victims.

A Facebook organization called the Kenosha Guard had earlier called on "patriots" to patrol the city amid protests.

In a post on Tuesday, the group wrote: "Are there patriots willing to take up arms and defend the city from the bullies tonight? They are definitely planning to burn down another part of the city now!"

The organization also launched an event entitled "Citizens Armed to Protect Our Lives and Property".

In a statement following the double assassination, the group said, "We do not know if an armed citizen responded to the Kenosha militia's call to arms. As with the shooting of Jacob Blake, we need all facts and evidence before we can draw conclusions."

In the recording from the scene, the teen shouts "I just killed someone" and runs away. Another video circulating on social media shows a young man running with a rifle in the street and being chased by the crowd. The man fell to the ground and seemed to start shooting. Several shots were fired. Later footage showed him approaching the officers with his hands raised, witnesses screaming to be arrested.

Rittenberg was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Wednesday's arrest warrant said Rittenhouse "escaped from Wisconsin with the intention of avoiding prosecution for the crime." According to public records, Rittenhouse lived in Antioch, about 20 years, with his mother and brothers, miles from Kenosha,

On Kyle Rittenhouse's social media pages, he shows his love for guns, support for Trump and the Blue Lives Matter movement.

On his now-deleted Facebook page, Rittenhouse stands with an AR-15 rifle in front of the phrase "Blue Lives Matter." Almost all of his public Facebook posts relate to the movement, including two memorial posts for officers who died in the line of duty. On December 22, 2018, he asked his friends to donate to Humanizing the Badge: "a non-profit organization committed to fostering closer relationships between law enforcement officials and the communities they serve."

Rittenhouse posted a short video of Trump's rally earlier this year in Des Moines, Iowa, on one of his TikTok accounts.
