Swiss Stock Exchange SIX Launches Cryptocurrency Gateway for Banks

SIX Group's blockchain platform SDX and custodian firm Custodigit will launch Institutional Digital Asset Gateway in the first quarter of 2021.

Custodigit was created in 2018 by the telecommunications and IT provider Swisscom and the crypto bank Sygnum licensed by the local regulator FINMA.

Once approved by the regulator, the partners will present the “complete investment value chain” of access to digital assets for banks.

Financial institutions and their clients will be able to take advantage of trading, a smart ordering system, settlements, and storage of cryptocurrencies, as well as gain access to secondary markets. The platform's functionality will be expanded in 2021.

Hackers attacked the Foxconn factory and demanded an 1804 BTC ransom

One of the factories of the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn has become a victim of the DoppelPaymer ransomware virus. The hackers demanded 1804 BTC from the company (about $ 33.8 million at the time of writing), according to Bleeping Computer.

Attackers attacked a facility in Mexico on November 29. They stole roughly 100GB of files, encrypted the North American segment (1200-1400 servers), and deleted 20-30TB of backups.

Some of the documents were published by the hackers. According to some reports, the stolen information does not include personal data of employees and financial reports.

In early November, DoppelPaymer attacked Taiwanese laptop manufacturer Compal Electronics. The attackers demanded 1100 BTC for decryption.

Recall, the authorities of Delaware County in the US state of Pennsylvania paid the operators of the ransomware virus $ 500,000 in bitcoins.
